Functionality/Use

Note: The following is from the v1 home page, some of which still applies. It will be updated to v2 as time permits.

Toolbar Icon Function Use
AC Traceroute Find Route Find Routes After having selected a source and destination (whether a location or coordinate) press this button to find all routes between the two that have a distance less than or equal to the cutoff distance.

Depending on the cutoff distance and whether or not "Use Towns" is selected, this function can take either a very short or very long time (see technical explanation below).

Each leg of each route is preceded by the distance from the previous leg.

AC Traceroute Nearby Nearby When a town is selected as the source this button will list all of the locations for which this town is the closest.

Each location is preceded by a distance and sorted from shortest to longest.

AC Traceroute Within Within This button will list all of the locations that are within the cutoff distance from the source location.

Each location is preceded by a distance and sorted from shortest to longest.

AC Traceroute Towns List Towns Lists all of the towns that are in the locations file.

AC Traceroute Outposts List Outposts List all of the outposts that are in the locations file.

AC Traceroute Portals List Portals Lists all of the portals that are in the locations file.

AC Traceroute Copy Copy to Clipboard Copies the contents of the output window to the windows clipboard.
AC Traceroute Print Print Prints the contents of the output window to the printer of your choice (a printer selection window is provided).

When cycling through the list of locations (the source and destination lists are identical), you will notice that there is some ancillary information associated with each location including the Src Lat/Lon, the Dest Lat/Lon (if a portal), the Levels (or Restrictions), the closest Town via a direct route, and a Description. Not all locations have the Levels and Description field filled in at this time. I simply haven't been able to check every single one at this time -- so please send help update information at AC Warcry.

When cycling through the list of routes, you will notice a few things:

  1. The "Original Distance" is the distance traveled in a straight line from the source to the destination.

  2. The "Route Distance" is the distance traveled when traveling along the currently selected route. Note that roads, obstacles, and height of terrain are not taken into account here so actual distance traveled when taking a route may be longer. There is simply no way to work around this without having the 3D terrain data.

  3. "Savings" is simply the difference between the "Original Distance" and the "Route Distance".

For any item that appears in the output window, you may double click it to see and level restrictions and/or description that might be available.
