Went on a Hami Raid

So I decided to see what it was all about. This morning I was invited on a team and went on a Hami Raid.

In total there was over 100 heroes participating. The whole thing took a couple hours. It really is a long boring process, you don't really get all that much xp, and when the mitochondria's all finally are killed and everyone starts attacking Hamidon, you're ping rate shoots up to about 2000ms. You can't even target Hamidon, you have to target someone's pet and assist it!! The lag is horrendous, lesser systems beware Smiling.

At the end you get 1 random level 50 Hamidon enhancement when he goes down. I didn't really think the payoff was worth the time investment, especially since the enhancement is near useless to me.

So if anyone wants it I have a Lvl 50 Lysosome Enhancement. It increases ToHit and Defense Debuffs, and Accuracy. Probably a good one for Defenders or Controllers. Just hit me up in game sometime and the enhancement is yours.

Gotta remember...

There are people who powerleveled to 50 in two months or so. Their only end game has been the Hami Raid.

The part about the Raid turning into a slide show is believeable because during the SG Arena fights on Test that is what would happen sometimes.

The issue with HOs is easy.

The issue with HOs is easy.

Raise the level cap 6 levels.

The problem they cause will then fade over time.

Anyway, I find the people running raids to be highly bossy/fussy individuals who don't understand that if they were nicer to the participants they'd have less issues then if they spent all their time bitching about it.

Besides actually being one of the few people to see Hami in beta, I'm not rushing back Eye

Hami O's

I don't know, I still think it is a waste of time to do it. I know HO's are really good and all, but there must be people with a lot of time on their hands to fill up on those things.

And I don't really care about PvP anyway, it brings out the whiners.

Not Good

Yeah - as Dawnfire told me after she did it months ago, the game engine really just isn't up to it. Too many people in too small of a space.

The reward enhancer is actually pretty huge. Where an even level SO will typically add 33% to a power, the dual Hamidon Origin (HO) enhancers will add 50% to two aspects of a power. Six of these things in a power is like having 18 SO's in the power! The thing is, the devs have already stated that the game gets a bit too easy for several powersets when they get their SO's. So you know that getting a bunch of these will make the PvE game downright trivial.

However, if you want to do pickup groups in the Arena in the top weight class, you're going to need these. A *lot* of these. There are folks out there that are completely covered in the things.

Honestly, I think the whole thing needs help. IMHO, they need to rebalance it so a supergroup can attack it and have a hope of winning then set it up something like a base raid in CoV where the supergroup raids Hamidon's domain. (Might even make for a nice test of that functionality.) Then change the HO's so they degrade in, oh, five days or so and become SO's. Plus give a badge for defeating the guy.
