Well, I got back in at about 1:05am local time early Saturday morning.......and promptly had a car load of my wife's hippy friends show up to crash for the night! So, after a 3 hour flight delay on the plane I got to stay up another 2 hours visiting! Good thing I had to entertain and drive into Chicago to just "look" at buildings and landmarks during the middle of the holiday weekend with a Cubs game and the 25th anniversary of "The Taste of Chicago" going on (For those not in this area, that equates to about 1 million people in the downtown area I was forced to sit in gridlock traffic in)

Anyways, I had a great time and saw some incredible sites. I have over 200 pictures I need to sort through today and get ready to send out for developing. I will try and put something together for anyone interested in seeing.

Ahhhh......the anniversary meal. Well, things have changed since I last spoke to you and Circeus online.

In a rare inspiration from my mother, I devised a new alternative to our plan that I was sure would be roundly approved by my wife. This new plan that we ended up going with was:

I told her on Thursday night what was going on and canceled the night at the fancy restaurant and hotel (which saved us a total of almost $600!!!!!) so that we could apply that money to the actual vacation!

It was also nice to be off the hook and not have to hide anything from here anymore (which, despite my apparent skills at it, I hate to do). She was soooo floored and surprised by the whole thing that I think she would marry me if she hadn't already taken that mad plunge years ago.

Instead of having to make all thepreparations myself, she was able to help and share her input about what she was interested in doing. So, as to our "actual" anniversary dinner? We had Szechwan take out from the fabulous (or not) Little China House II carry out restaurant!

But, it was still a great night!!

We're staying at a place called Lake Quinault Lodge, it's a big log cabin styled lodge (or so the brochure says) and it's located right in the middle of the rainforest. Everything seems to be great about it and it's only 30 minutes to the coast and some nice Tide pool veiwing.

As far as getting lost goes.....I would be surprised if that happened. I have gone camping and hiking sooo many times in the past that I would need to really get into a bizarre accidental type crisis (Volcano Eruption, Avalanche, Fox's "When All the Animals Attack Frosty", Special, and so on) which, it hopefully won't happen.

On the plus side, I should have some great photos to post once I get back!

much like Perez Park, there are lots o'trees and trails to follow in Olympic, so be sure to load that map into your Palm pilot. Because if ya get lost, no one there to tp ya out to a zoning point.
