I think its a mistake.

They should be mining for time spent with SG mates. SG mode is an extra step that not many people bother to do, even when teamed with SG mates. So SG mode is a very poor way to designate that. Teaming with SG mates should be more important than SG mode itself.

From what he posts there I would say Prestige will start as a level playing field and everyone will be at zero. My guess is that you accomplish tasks in SG mode and get Prestige as well as Influence.

will that mean the datamining will preset the Prestige and a player can start with an amount already? Or will the Prestige start from scratch and everyone starts at zero?

Also, by SG mode, does that mean they are establishing that you are entered in SG mode or that a character is in SG mode AND using SG colors?

Believe it or not, Maq is always in SG mode but just doesnt use the majority of SG colors. So if they use the formula "just in SG mode" and an amount of Prestige is awarded due to datamining, woot!

To be honest, I like the "prestige" idea. Just consider for a moment how much influence all the Drek farmers have? Id have to say they have got to be approaching the mid hundred mil mark and thats a conservative estimate. If SG bases were built strictly by Influence, they (the Drek farmers) would have a distinct advantage. Also, Influece is something generated by the individual character, but an SG is a roster of multiple characters, so how would the citizens recognize the group? By Prestige.

Hehe which means that if DC or Marvel followed that same rule, the Fantasic Four would have a greater Prestige than the Avengers and the Justice League combined! Which explains why so many super-villians can infilitrate their bases, but the Fantastic 4 only have a select few villians by-passing thier security.

Yeah... that would really suck for established characters who don't have an entire career spent in SG costume. I seriously hope they rethink that, but I know how these things, go... its already a done deal.
