VG Base and Guidelines

Okay, as expected due to where people are playing more right now, the Avatars of Injustice have a base that functions.

Right now it consists of four rooms:

1) Entry Room
- Entry/Exit Portal

2) Control Room
- Mainframe Computer (Control)

3) Energy Room
- Generator (Energy)

4) Workshop
- Basic Tech Worktable

If I'm online I can swap the basic table between Tech and Arcane so you can convert your salvage into the basic Tech and Arcane Components. By next weekened I suspect we'll have enough Prestige to keep both out indefintely, this would also allow for me to swap out both tables and put in an Expert Tech or Arcane table as well. In general when I'm offline the plan will be to keep out the two basic tables.

The basic concept for crafting is this: the table you use will present you with recipies. The smart thing to do is this, use the hide menu to get rid of recepies that are not for that table AND ones that you don't have salvage for. Then you open up the recepies that are left, and if you want the item you use its "Create" button.

IMPORTANT: I know the temptation to place items you craft immediately will be strong. DO NOT DO THIS!!! Placing items always costs prestige and we therefore need to plan what we place carefully. So if you have something created, post it here and we'll discuss its need (for example, we don't need a Mission Computer right off as its for PvP), and if its something we need then you can place it.

In general, all Salvage you find can be converted into Components (either Tech or Arcane): Control or Power. Control means the item either generates or uses Control, and Power means it either generates or uses Power. There are a few other special types of Salvage we may want to hunt down later on (like special bits from Monsters), but that can wait as we can't afford the things they can make anyway.

You may for now want to stick to just breaking down your salvage into Components, and not actually create any functional items.

The plan from here is as follows:

1) Get enough prestige to have down both basic worktables at once (not much more is needed for this)

2) Build a Medical Room, and place a basic rez pad in it. This will allow people to ressurect at the base rather than at the hospital if they so desire.

3) Build a Teleport Room, and place teleport pads in them (for teleporting to specific zones)

4) Build a second workshop to house expert tables permanently, and place the expert tables (the small workshops can only hold two tables each)

5) Build a third workshop to house advanced tables permanently, and place the tables.

6) A decorative/meeting type room.

In general, I'll place decorations as I feel we can afford them, but so that it doesn't intefere with the general plan towards functionality. Generally speaking, decorations are much, much cheaper than anything else, but that makes the temptation to place them higher, and I don't want to get carried away.

Okay after a lot of trial

Okay after a lot of trial and error, finally the base entry portal decided to cooperate and sit in the corner niceley. I've tested it several times in its current position and I don't seem to get stuck inside the portal on entry.

If for some reason you do get stuck on entering, use /stuck to get unstuck.

Also, now both a Tech and an Arcane basic forge are down. So you should be able to start converting all your salvage to material.

Also, if the above wasn't

Also, if the above wasn't enough reason for you to not just place items that you create right away. Items all have some sort of connection to Control, Power, or both. Depending on the current consumption status of total Control and total Power, there is potential that placing items could cause other objects in the base to stop working properly.

And remember, Salvage and the items you craft can be traded!!!
