SG & VG Base Update

This is just a general update so people know where things stand with our bases.

Our VG base is moving along nicely. Mostly because more people are playing villains right now regularly than heroes. But the hero side is getting some influence flowing as well (just not as much) so things are building slower, but they are getting built.

In general, the basic plot is an 8x8 grid, and it will be a long time on either side before we could upgrade. So the best plan is a 9x9 grid of 2x2 rooms. The plan on both sides being the same for room introduction and planning, as it comes off the most efficient.

That would be:

Entry
Infirmary
Control
Energy
Workshop 1
Transport
Workshop 2
Workshop 3
Decorative

At present both sides have the first 5 rooms listed (Entry though Workshop 1).

The Villain side also has the following functionality:

Basic Worktable
Basic Forge

The Hero side has no functionality yet.

The precursors to functionality are:

Generator - 225k Prestige
Mainframe - 150k Prestige

At the rate we're going on the Hero side, early January is likely when you can expect those.

From there items to buy initially are:

Basic Worktable (Tech) - 25k
Basic Forge (Arcane) - 25k
Rez Circle (Arcane, they look cooler) - 10k

A Transport Room will cost 150k, but I think telepads are only 25k, but need to be crafted (Fuzun and I know we have the salvage to do either Tech or Arcane ones, though I prefer Arcane again for teleporting).

So we're getting there.

Paid the rent on the hero

Paid the rent on the hero side. We have 106k saved up so far on the hero side. We need 225k for a generator and 150k for a mainframe. Then only 10k for a rez circle. That will get us our first functionality.

From there its 25k per basic worktable (1 of each type).

So we're a bit off, but we can get there eventually when people start pushing on that side again.

I'm still playing a hero,

I'm still playing a hero, when I have time to play. Sticking out tongue The base doesn't really matter to me since I can't get in without buying CoV.

Bul - Lvl 44 Claw/Regen Scrapper -AoJ
Cobbly - lvl 24 MA/Regen Scrapper -AoJ
Cow Chip - lvl 6 Eng/Eng Blaster - ICP
BurpBoy - lvl 15 Inv/SS Tank

Hero side? Yeah, not a

Hero side? Yeah, not a surprise. That side doesn't have much functionality at all because no one is really playing in AoJ atm - instead most are still playing CoV and therefore AoI more.

If the rent makes sense, I'll go pay it.

You never actually loose the base even if you don't pay rent, though you may loose access. One payment is all you need to make good again.

I logged in yesterday and got a message saying the SG base was late on the rent.

Okay... the following is on

Okay... the following is on the Villain side...

The base is coming along. We've got a workshop now with both basic tables in it. If I'm on I can swap these to an advanced table of either type for you. And soonish I hope for us to have enough of a prestige buffer that swapping in an Expert Table won't be out of the question.

We've got a functioning rez pad, which means you can choose to hit the base instead of the hospital now when you die.

And we've got a functioning Teleporter that has beacons set to Cap Au Diable, and Mercy Island. Cap makes the most sense as you can get most anywhere by one hop from Cap, and Mercy because its two hops from Cap. To use the teleporter click the stone floating in the center of it. Costs were:

150k for Teleport Room
15k for Teleporter (must be built first from Salvage)
10k per Beacon (so 20k total)

Next goal is more control again, and I've got a Holodisplay built (from Salvage) and ready to place. It'll be 97k to place. I figure 2 weeks for that, maybe 3.

After that a mission computer, more to see what it affords us, if anything. That will be 75k.

Then on with the plan.

Refining and Building Stuff

When you use the workbenched to "refine" your salvage, it creates 2 type of stuff for Tech and Magic. For Tech it's Tech Material or Tech Prototype. For Magic it's Magic Foci and (memory fails me).

To actually build a usable thingie, you use different propotions of refined salvage. For instance, (using made up numbers) to build a Computer you would need 6 Tech Materials and 4 Tech Prototypes. To build some super duper (and very expensive) thingies, you need a type of rare salvage drop for that you receive for AVs/Heroes/Monsters, or completing a TF/SF, etc.

Lustrious, Natural Peacebringer

Most likely, all you did was

Most likely, all you did was create material from which you can craft actual items. Its a little confusing, but essentially, except for a few special case Salvage items, the Salvage you find is twice removed from actual created items.

Hmmmm

This is the part I really cant grasp or quite understand. When I visited as Dr Shortstuff, I found the worktable and naturally cackled with glee!! Evil

I just started playing with what I had and Im still not sure what I created. Puzzled

--Did someone say the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man is rampaging in Atlas Park? OMW and I'm bringing the Fire to toast 'im!

Well, I did some research

Well, I did some research last night, and got all my salvage onto a single character (Doctor Tomb), choices are:

Holodisplay
-15 Energy, +25 Control
Required Components: 3x Material, 5x Power
Crafed on the Basic Worktable
Placement Cost: 97K

Monitor Bank
-10 Energy, +20 Control
Placement Cost: 85k

As opposed to just using the uncrafed:
Database
+50 Control
Placement Cost: 106k

So I think for starters we'll just go with the Database, once its in place (I figure in about 2 weeks) we'll work towards a transport room and a teleporter (by then they should likely have the kinks with beacons worked out too).

The villain base now has a

The villain base now has a Rez Circle in it.

When you die, you will be presented with an extra button in the death dialog to "Go to Base". Trust me it works, I got to test it just fine last night Smiling

Before I build another room, we'll have to add in more Control, but this likely will not get done until I get back from vacation. The plan is to place our first forged item to do this, I'm just not sure which is more appropriate for us, so I need to check on power consumption vs control provided for mega-monitor and holo-globe.
