Initial patching

Does anybody know how if there is a way to get the inicial patch and major patch without using the updater? from another server preferently.

Note that my line of work is basically networking. In fact, I write a packet sniffer as my primary job function right now.

No but, where you sit in your ISPs routing tables, and which DNS servers you use can make a ton of difference when routing to certain destinations.

In general this happens with a lot of ISPs who resell other services. For example, many companies in the US resell DSL which only comes from about 5 major sources originally.

To continue my example above... one of the largest US resellers is Qwest. They are so large, because in addition to their own reselling, they have a reseller program. This program twice removes you from the actual DSL source.

In certain cases, some companies will be reselling from multiple sources. What you can do is if you have problems, ask them what source your under (this may require some geekspeak so you properly schmooze the tech support person your chatting with), and have them move your IP address to the routing tables for one of their other sources.

Doing this can sometimes greatly increase your performance.

So yes, the sub-atlantic truck sucks swamp, and isn't helped much due to the number of satellites signals have to bounce through for the alternate routest between here and where you are (something is telling me Brazil). But in general, while you can't change that, there are defintely some other things to try.

Actually the problem lies in

Actually the problem lies in the international routing to that specific subnet. I don't have problem with the actual game network, coh webpage network or even plaync subnet. Every isp on my country has this problem because of how the international carrier design national route entries. I work in the technical department of an isp, so i know how this routes are designed, that's why i said earlier that it might be better to get the patch from another server. And because i work in an isp i know they're not going to re-route an international path just for one user Sad .

But thanks anyway.

hmmm...

Well the address for the auth server is map.coh.com (I'm a hacker I know these things). What you may want to do is run a tracert to that address and see where/if you have any huge delays.

This information might help your ISP rework some of their routing such that they avoid the delayed network.

For example, I know in getting to avatarsofjustce.com the server is hosted in Baltimore, MD (in the US), and that Qwest (a US ISP) has huge delays in getting to Baltimore so you want to avoid routing through them.

There may be a similar issue going on for some to map.coh.com.

This patching thing is killin

This patching thing is killing me...
I have a broadband conection, 512 downstream 128 upstream, but for some reason the patch server's subnet has a very low transfer rate, at least from my network, witch means that for the last two days i've been waiting for this patching process to finish...
