Profile Info changes...

I went over the fields for user profiles, and made all but Birthday visible (will get to that in a moment). Most fields make a little more sense to me now, it was just too many personal info fields before that I don't feel are needed. So I trimed it down to be more like other forum programs.
I also made two categories Contact Information and Personal Information.
Contact info lists email, homepage, CoH Global Chat, and various IMs. If you don't fill something in, it won't show.
Personal info is more like how it is on the CoH main forums.
Under Name I suggested that you may not want to display your last name for identity theft reasons. I also am not currently having Birthday displayed either, for the same reasons. In fact, I'm thinking of just nixing the field altogether.
I'd like to hear others opinions on the birthday field.
I will work on adding in places for character info as well.

Okay I have created a set of directions for creating and adding your Hero Bios to the system. This includes a template based off of Miss Tigress's original design with some tweaks by me.

Okay the Hero Bios page is now automated, in much the same way as the new membership page. If you have a character who lists a bio node number then they will show on this page. Otherwise they will not.
Directions on the template page still forthcoming.

Okay right now on the Supergroup membership page, if a character has a bio node number set, its name will now be a link to the bio.

Okay I'm now working on codin
Okay I'm now working on coding up the bio page, and allow it so people can attach their bios automagically by node number. You will now notice that each character has a field called "Bio Node Number X" (where X is character number) for it now.
For the seven (7) characters who already had bios, I went through the character info for those characters and added in their bio node numbers since they already existed. In two cases, I had to create character info: Hellstrom and Miss Tigress.
Info on how to do this yourself will be coming shortly.

Okay I coded up the membership page to pull its info from the profiles we set up here on the site. So people need to start filling this in!!!
It will list us by Rank, then by user id on the site. Listing username, displayemail (if set in profile), and coh global chat (if set in profile). Then it will list each character you have listed in your profile, and the info for them that you listed.

You now just set Supergroup Rank once, at the top of your character info. Not once per character. Generally speaking rank is really considered to be for the player and not individual characters (even though its set that way in game).
Oh this field will pickup whatever you set for SG Rank 1 previously.

Haven't gotten to any coding yet. But I did just add the fields for adding your character info to your profile. Eventually I will phase out the Yahoo database in favor of us using this info on a redone Supergroup Membership page I will code that will pull the info out of the profile info. So as long as you keep your profile info up to date, membership info gets kept up to date.
So I'd like everyone to start filling in their characters in their profile info. You are not required to enter in every single character you have. Just the ones you want listed.

Birthday suggestion.
Have the birthday hidden but have something in the code where it'll know if it's someone's birthday and announce it on the board.
Suggestion two: Make it general. "Birthdays this week". The date won't be announced but you'll know FarmAides birthday is somewhere between April Fools and April 7th. As an example.<br><hr>
