Crossroads of Dereth Atlas

AC Maps Dungeon Listing

Functionality/Use

There are three colors you'll want to pay some attention to in the GUI controls:

  1. The color green is used to set a source location for routing -- this is either represented by a green button labeled Source or a green S next to just about any location in the GUI. Clicking any of these will set the source location and you will see a message in the AC client area indicating that a source location has been set.
  2. The color red is used to set a destination location for routing -- this is either represented by a red button labeled Destination or a red D next to just about any location in the GUI. Clicking any of these will set the destination location and you will see a message in the AC client area indicating that a destination location has been set.
  3. The color blue is used to label buttons that bring up the Info View. The Info View is persistent, and can also be found on the Decal bar.
In DPS there are three views/windows: You may additionally want information about:

Main View:

DPS Main DPS Found on the top of this page is the basic tracking information, including:

  • the location icon (see Icons)
  • type indication (e.g., Surface, Indoors, Jumping, etc.)
  • the current coordinates - indoor coordinates will be bracketed
  • the number of meters above sea level
  • the current cardinal compass facing
  • and, the same facing in degrees

Found on the bottom of this page is:

  • the direct heading (in shorthand cardinal form) from the current source location to the current destination location
  • the original distance between the source and destination
  • if a route has been performed than the distance of the route
  • and the distance savings of that route vs. the original distance

The following 8 buttons:

  • Source - takes the current coordinates and sets them to be the source location, which can then be used for routing
  • Dest - takes the current coordinates and sets them to be the destination location, which can then be used for routing
  • Info - displays the Info View
  • Route - calculates a route using the portal system of Dereth from the current source location to the current destination location as displayed in the Info View
  • Dist - displays the desired location set (see below) sorted by distance from the current coordinates in the Info View
  • Alpha - displayes the desired location set (see below) sorted alphabetically (but with distance from the current coordinates listed for each location) in the Info View
  • Swap - swaps the source and destination location in the Info View
  • Add Tie - takes the current location and uses them to create a new tie/recall point in the Info View. If the location is in a dungeon DPS will attempt to resolve the name of that dungeon and use that for the tie/recall point instead.

The following checkboxes specify the desired location set when using the Dist and Alpha buttons. If a button is not checked, then items of that type will not be displayed in the Info View:

  • Towns
  • Lifestones
  • Outposts
  • Dungeons
  • Portals
  • Portal Exits - exit coordinates for portals near the location
  • Halls - Meeting Halls
  • POI - Points of Interest
  • Vendors
  • Housing
  • Search - used in conjunction with the edit box immediately to its right to perform simple text searches in the list of known locations. For example, checking off Search and typing Tusker into the edit box will only display locations containing the word Tusker in either its name or description.

DPS Main Corpses A list of currently known corpses. Each line contains the following information about a corpse:

  • A skull icon (see Icons). The skull for a corpse will remain white for the first 10% of the timer for that corpse. So in the case of a corpse with a 1 hour timer, the skull would be white for the first 6 minutes. The skull of a corpse will remain green for the middle 80% of timer for that corpse. So in the case of a corpse with a 1 hour timer, the skull would be green for minutes 7 through 54. The skull of a corpse will remain red for the last 10% of the timer for that corpse and will remain until the corpse is deleted by the user.
  • An icon indicating the type of location (see Icons)
  • coordinates of the corpse - indoor coordinates will be bracketed (dungeon resolution does not occur on this list)
  • the remaining time for finding the corpse calculated on the rule of 5 minutes per level with a minimum of 1 hour)

The green S and red D are used to set the corpse as the source or destination location, see above for more info.

A corpse can be tracked in a Tracking View by clicking the corpse. If a corpse is being tracked, its text will turn green. The currently selected corpse can be deleted with the Delete button. All corpses can be deleted using the Clear button.

DPS Main Marks NOTE: The Add, Delete, and Clear buttons do not currently work!!!

Each bookmark contains the following information:

  • An icon indicating the type of location (see Icons)
  • The name of the bookmark

Right now there are only two bookmarks that will show in this view:

  • Last Known Coordinates - this will only be displayed if tracking the character's last known has been enabled in the options (see below)
  • Currently Tracked Location - The last place that was tracked in the Tracking View (not a corpse or the Last Known Coordinates).

The green S and red D are used to set the corpse as the source or destination location, see above for more info.

As with corpses, bookmarks can be tracked in a Tracking View by clicking the bookmark. If a bookmark is being tracked in the Tracking View, then it will be highlighted green.

DPS Main Data WCoD
DPS Main Data ACMaps
DPS uses two databases as the backend to its core functionality:

Both databases can by synchronized using your internet connection and the following buttons:

  • Download - makes the appropriate connect and downloads a fresh version of the appropriate data file
  • Cancel - aborts a download of the appropriate data file midstream
  • Revert - reverts to the last version of the appropriate data file
  • Original - reverts to the original (installed) version of the appropriate data file

Each page lists the size, date, and time of the last download for the appropriate data file.

The AC Warcry Atlas page contains a listing of known locations by their category. Clicking a category will bring up a list of all the locations in that category in the Info View. There are some special categories:

  • All - all known locations
  • Corrected Portals - portals that did not have destination coordinates entered, but were able to be corrected to approximate drop coordinates
  • Rest - a collection of the Vendor, Landmark, and Village categories
  • Duplicate - locations that appear to be the same
  • Deadend Portal - portals that did not have destination coordinates entered, but were not able to be corrected
  • Dungeon No ID - dungeons for which a dungeon ID could not be determined
  • Unknown - locations of an unknown type

The AC Maps IDs page conains a count of the number of dungeons listed in the file, than have been named by the file.

Info View:

The following 4 buttons behave the same no matter which page is selected in the Info View:

  • Route - calculates a route using the portal system of Dereth from the current source location to the current destination location as displayed in the Info View
  • Dist - displays the desired location set (see below) sorted by distance from the current coordinates in the Info View
  • Alpha - displayes the desired location set (see below) sorted alphabetically (but with distance from the current coordinates listed for each location) in the Info View
  • Swap - swaps the source and destination location in the Info View
DPS Info Source Custom Contains the source location information for routing. This location can be either a hand edited set of coordinates or a location in the database. There are several places in the GUI where a source location can be set simply look for either a green Source button or a green S. When the source location is set you will get a message in the client chat window indicating it has been set.

If you'd like to reset the source to the current coordinates of your AC character, click the Coordinates checkbox. Clicking the Location checkbox will happen automatically if you set a location as the source (see above), doing so manually will simply clear out the coordinates manually and you will see a warning to set a location. In either mode you can hand edit coordinates, but if a place is set as the source it will persist unless the Coordinates checkbox is checked.

Filling in the Dest Lat/Lon is not required when the Coordinates checkbox is checked. Dest Lat/Lon will be filled in if the current Location is set to a portal.

The name, description, and type icon (see Icons) will also be displayed for the source.

DPS Info Dest Place Contains the destination location information for routing. This location can be either a hand edited set of coordinates or a location in the database. There are several places in the GUI where a destination location can be set simply look for either a red Destination button or a red D. When the destination location is set you will get a message in the client chat window indicating it has been set.

If you'd like to reset the destination to the current coordinates of your AC character, click the Coordinates checkbox. Clicking the Location checkbox will happen automatically if you set a location as the destination (see above), doing so manually will simply clear out the coordinates manually and you will see a warning to set a location. In either mode you can hand edit coordinates, but if a place is set as the destination it will persist unless the Coordinates checkbox is checked.

Filling in the Dest Lat/Lon is not required when the Coordinates checkbox is checked. Dest Lat/Lon will be filled in if the current Location is set to a portal.

The name, description, and type icon (see Icons) will also be displayed for the destination.

DPS Info Route Dist This is an example of the results of using the Dist button while standing next to the Rithwic Lifestone. Each line contains the following information:

  • Lat/Lon distance to the location
  • shorthand cardinal direction to the location
  • an icon indicating the type of location (see Icons)
  • The name and coordinates of the location

Clicking on any line on this page will pop up a Tracking View for the location on that line.

Clicking the green S on any line will set that location to the source location for routing.

Clicking the red D on any line will set that location to the destination location for routing.

DPS Info Route Alpha This is an example of the results of using the Alpha button while standing next to the Rithwic Lifestone.

DPS Infor Route Route This is an example of a route from the source location to the destination location generated by using the Route button. Each line contains the following information:

  • Lat/Lon distance to the location from the location on the line above it
  • shorthand cardinal direction to the location from the location on the line above it
  • an icon indicating the type of location (see Icons)
  • The name and coordinates of the location

Clicking on any line on this page will pop up a Tracking View for the location on that line.

Clicking the green S on any line will set that location to the source location for routing.

Clicking the red D on any line will set that location to the destination location for routing.

DPS Info Ties This is the current character's list of tie/recall points. Each line has the following:

  • A checkbox to indicate if the tie/recall point is to be used in routing calculations. A checked point will be used in routing.
  • an icon indicating the type of tie/recall point (see Icons)
  • The name and coordinates of the location

Clicking the green S on any line will set that tie/recall point to the source location for routing.

Clicking the red D on any line will set that tie/recall point to the destination location for routing.

Clicking on any tie/recall point in the list will select the tie/recall point and display its information on the right hand side of the page. From here, if possible (see below), you can edit the type, name, and coordinates of the tie/recall point.

The 3 buttons work as follows:

  • Add Tie - takes the current location and uses them to create a new tie/recall point in the Info View. If the location is in a dungeon DPS will attempt to resolve the name of that dungeon and use that for the tie/recall point instead. However, if the character currently has either a portal/dungeon/hall selected or a lifestone selected, then the selected item will be used for the tiepoint instead.
  • Update Tie - Once you have edited the information for a tie/recall point, click this button to update the information in the tie/recall point itself. If you can't change part of the tie/recall point, you will get a warning in the AC client chat area, and that part will reset to its fixed value.
  • Remove Tie - Deletes the currently selected tie. If a tie can not be deleted you will get a warning in the AC client chat area. Special ties can not be removed (see below).

There are six tie/recall points that can not be removed from DPS, and only one of which can have its coordinates edited. They are:

  • Ulgrim's Recall (can have its coordinates changed)
  • Singularity Caul Recall
  • Recall the Sanctuary
  • Mount Lethe Recall
  • Aphus Lassal Recall
  • Aerlinthe Recall

DPS Info Underground This is a special class of portals in Dereth which are generally found in a dungeon or other not readily accessible location. Under certain circumstances a user may want to remove these portals from their routing calculations. To do so they need to only uncheck the portal they do not want to use. This is not a list of all portals. Each line contains the following information:

  • A checkbox to indicate if the portal is to be used in routing calculations. A checked portal will be used in routing.
  • an icon indicating the portal (see Icons)
  • The name and coordinates of the portal

Clicking the green S on any line will set that tie/recall point to the source location for routing.

Clicking the red D on any line will set that tie/recall point to the destination location for routing.

Tracking View:

  • The dungeon a corpse was left in (if a corpse)

HUD (Heads-Up Display):

Once enabled (see options) the HUD can be moved by first holding down the Alt key and then clicking your left mouse button inside the HUD text and dragging the text wherever you'd like it to be in the AC client's 3D space. DPS HUD Outdoors
a sample outdoor HUD
DPS HUD Dungeon
a sample in-dungeon HUD

Depending on which HUD options you select (see options), you can have a HUD that is at most 4 lines long. Assuming a 4 line HUD, the lines in the HUD are as follows:

  • current coordinates of the character. Indoor/in-Dungeon coordinates will be displayed in brackets ('[' and ']')
  • current meters above sea level of the character (in dungeons this generally is an offset in terms of the "center point" of the dungeon)
  • the shorthand cardinal facing of the character
  • in a dungeon only the 4th line will contain the name of the dungeon

ODB (On Decal Bar):

DPS ODB Plain How DPS will look if both the option to show the Icon ODB and the option to show coords ODB are turned off.
DPS ODB Full Depending on which ODB options you select (see options), you can have a HUD that contains at most 4 items. The image to the left shows ODB settings for all 4 items:

  • current coordinates of the character. Indoor/in-Dungeon coordinates will be displayed in brackets ('[' and ']')
  • current meters above sea level of the character (in dungeons this generally is an offset in terms of the "center point" of the dungeon)
  • the shorthand cardinal facing of the character
  • in a dungeon only the 4th line will contain the name of the dungeon
DPS ODB Info The Info View will have its own entry on the Decal Bar, and will persist, but is destroyed and recreated each time the database re-loads (on character login, and on a download of either database source).

Generally speaking the title of this view will contain information about what information is currently being shown on the Info tab in the Info View.

DPS ODB Tracking The Tracking View tracking a standard location. Contains the location's coordinates.
DPS ODB Last The Tracking View tracking the last known location from the character's previous session. Contains the location's coordinates.
DPS ODB Corpse The Tracking View tracking a corpse. Contains the corpse timer and coordinates.
