Functionality/Use
There are three colors you'll want to pay some attention to in the GUI controls:
- The color green is used to set a source location for routing -- this is either represented by a green button labeled Source or a green S next to just about any location in the GUI. Clicking any of these will set the source location and you will see a message in the AC client area indicating that a source location has been set.
- The color red is used to set a destination location for routing -- this is either represented by a red button labeled Destination or a red D next to just about any location in the GUI. Clicking any of these will set the destination location and you will see a message in the AC client area indicating that a destination location has been set.
- The color blue is used to label buttons that bring up the Info View. The Info View is persistent, and can also be found on the Decal bar.

- Dist - displays the desired location set (see below) sorted by distance from the current coordinates in the Info View

Contains the source location information for routing. This location can be either a hand edited set of coordinates or a location in the database. There are several places in the GUI where a source location can be set simply look for either a green Source button or a green S. When the source location is set you will get a message in the client chat window indicating it has been set.
If you'd like to reset the source to the current coordinates of your AC character, click the Coordinates checkbox. Clicking the Location checkbox will happen automatically if you set a location as the source (see above), doing so manually will simply clear out the coordinates manually and you will see a warning to set a location. In either mode you can hand edit coordinates, but if a place is set as the source it will persist unless the Coordinates checkbox is checked. Filling in the Dest Lat/Lon is not required when the Coordinates checkbox is checked. Dest Lat/Lon will be filled in if the current Location is set to a portal. The name, description, and type icon (see Icons) will also be displayed for the source. |

There are several places in the GUI where a destination location can be set simply look for either a red Destination button or a red D. When the destination location is set you will get a message in the client chat window indicating it has been set.
If you'd like to reset the destination to the current coordinates of your AC character, click the Coordinates checkbox. Clicking the Location checkbox will happen automatically if you set a location as the destination (see above), doing so manually will simply clear out the coordinates manually and you will see a warning to set a location. In either mode you can hand edit coordinates, but if a place is set as the destination it will persist unless the Coordinates checkbox is checked. Filling in the Dest Lat/Lon is not required when the Coordinates checkbox is checked. Dest Lat/Lon will be filled in if the current Location is set to a portal. The name, description, and type icon (see Icons) will also be displayed for the destination. |

This is a special class of portals in Dereth which are generally found in a dungeon or other not readily accessible location. Under certain circumstances a user may want to remove these portals from their routing calculations. To do so they need to only uncheck the portal they do not want to use. This is not a list of all portals. Each line contains the following information:
Clicking the green S on any line will set that tie/recall point to the source location for routing. Clicking the red D on any line will set that tie/recall point to the destination location for routing. |
Tracking View:
This page is very similar in functionality to the Main View's DPS page.
Found on the top of this page is the basic tracking information, including:
The following 9 buttons:
li>Source - takes the coordinates of the tracked location (or the tracked location itself) and sets them to be the source location, which can then be used for routing
The following checkboxes specify the desired location set when using the Dist and Alpha buttons. If a button is not checked, then items of that type will not be displayed in the Info View:

Displays some additional information about the currently tracked location. This can include some or all of the following:
HUD (Heads-Up Display):
Once enabled (see options) the HUD can be moved by first holding down the Alt key and then clicking your left mouse button inside the HUD text and dragging the text wherever you'd like it to be in the AC client's 3D space. Should you ever loose track of your HUD you can press the Reset HUD Pos button to return it to a known visible position.
a sample outdoor HUD |
a sample in-dungeon HUD |
Depending on which HUD options you select (see options), you can have a HUD that is at most 4 lines long. Assuming a 4 line HUD, the lines in the HUD are as follows:
- current coordinates of the character. Indoor/in-Dungeon coordinates will be displayed in brackets ('[' and ']')
- current meters above sea level of the character (in dungeons this generally is an offset in terms of the "center point" of the dungeon)
- the shorthand cardinal facing of the character
- in a dungeon only the 4th line will contain the name of the dungeon
ODB (On Decal Bar):
How DPS will look if both the option to show the Icon ODB and the option to show coords ODB are turned off. |
Depending on which ODB options you select (see options), you can have a HUD that contains at most 4 items. The image to the left shows ODB settings for all 4 items:
The Info View will have its own entry on the Decal Bar, and will persist, but is destroyed and recreated each time the database re-loads (on character login, and on a download of either database source).
Generally speaking the title of this view will contain information about what information is currently being shown on the Info tab in the Info View. |
The Tracking View tracking a standard location. Contains the location's coordinates. |
The Tracking View tracking the last known location from the character's previous session. Contains the location's coordinates. |
