Functionality/Use

Emoter reads in the list of emote commands and states from the Asheron's Call portal.dat file and presents them to the user in an easy to use manner. It also provides command line aliasing for command line functions.

Tab Explanations

Emoter Emotes This tab contains a list of emotes and emote states that you have selected on the Setup tab (see below).

  • To perform an emote (or emote state), simply click it in the list. The emote (or emote state) will be performed, and the emote (or emote state) will be flagged with a green triangle.
  • The last selected emote (or emote state) can then be moved up or down in the list, or deleted using the buttons Up, Down, and Delete respectively.
  • The entire list can be deleted using the Clear button.
Emoter Setup At the top of this tab you will find a count of the total number of emotes and emote states that are found in your portal.dat file.

  • You can select an emote and either send the emote or add it to the Emotes tab (see above) using the Send Emote and Add Emote buttons.
  • You can select an emote state and either send the emote state or add it to the Emotes tab (see above) using the Send State and Add State buttons.

Chat Command Line

All Emoter chat commands are available through the @emoter command. By default simply typing @emoter or /emoter into the Asheron's Call chat window the user will be presented with a list of possible commands, some examples, and some other uses of the features of the Emoter chat command line.

All Emoter chat commands take the form of (note a / can be substituted for @):

@emoter <command> <parameters>

<command> <parameters>
alias @emoter alias [[all] | [<alias> <command>]]

Used to display a list of all current aliases or assign a <command> to an <alias>.

  • With no parameters this command will display a list of current aliases to the user.

  • all - displays a list of current aliases to the user (same as above).

  • Otherwise the first parameter will become an alias for all the text that follows it.

Examples:

@emoter alias
@emoter alias all
@emoter alias hmr /house mansion_recall

a Same as alias
unalias @emoter unalias [[all] | [<alias>]]

Used to remove all current aliases or remove a specific <alias>.

  • With no parameters this command will default to the help.

  • all - will remove all aliases without confirmation. Be careful.

  • Otherwise the first parameter is assumed to be an alias that you wish to remove from the alias list.

Examples:

@emoter unalias
@emoter unalias all
@emoter unalias hmr

ua Same as unalias
u Same as unalias
aliases Same as the commands:

@emoter alias

@emoter alias all

sort @emoter sort [[c | cmd | command] | [a | alias]]

Used to change and/or display the sort order of aliases when the list is displayed.

  • With no parameters this will display the sort order for displaying the alias list (see above). This will either be command or alias.

  • With c, cmd, or command this command will put the alias list sorting into an alphabetical by command listing.

  • With a or alias this command will put the alias list sorting into an alphabetical by alias listing.

Examples:

@emoter sort
@emoter sort c
@emoter sort cmd
@emoter sort command
@emoter sort a
@emoter sort alias

states @emoter states

Used to display a list of the available emote states.

state @emoter state <emote state>

Used to issue an emote by emote state (case sensitive).

Examples:

@emoter state PossumState
@emoter state WoahState

Use Emoter aliases to interact with other plugins:

Using an Emoter alias:

To use an Emoter alias just type it into the chat window preceeded by a / or @. Some examples (based on the above samples):
