Working better now...

It looks to me like things are going strong here again. I want to thank the people who emailed me about the site and who helped me work through some of the issues when it was coming back online. Don't hesitate to email me if you see any further issues at:

Site Issues

I am aware that there have been some issue with the site. I am working when I can to bring things back to a more usable state. I had had even larger issues with my other Drupal site that was running a slightly older version of Drupal. I've now got them both working from the same Drupal install, and both back functioning, sans additional modules. But this is only an interim step, there will be more downtime for ugrades soon.

TweakCoH v2.1.0.0

Welcome to what is very likely to be the final version of TweakCoH. This version fixes a small bug with reading in the current bloom value (there was no issue with setting it). It also introduces you to the catch phrase "the quick brawny hero jumps like a fox over the lazy dog of a villain" with the addition of the new Fonts tab.

This tab allows you to modify your CoH client fonts using the method of placing renamed system fonts into your CoH install's data/fonts directory. By default you can change the main GUI font as well as the overhead text font. The list of fonts available for change can be extended via XML in the future and will not require a code change. See the TweakCoH home page for more information on how to do this.

Energy Absorption Calculator & Guide v1.3.0.0

To match some changes in my enhancement calculations that came about while putting the finishing touched on the Enhancement Diversification Calculator (yes they share code). You'll only really notice the change if you put the 2 versions side-by-side.

Enhancement Diversification Calculator & Guide v1.2.0.0

Another tool I've been meaning to release for a while, but only first got around to it now. Basically I think that Enhancement Diversification in City of Heroes is one of the most confusing things ever introduced to a game post release. The devs have never provided a decent breakdown of it, and worse, the game client does a terrible and confusing job of conveying its effects to a player.

Well I've always been about getting the things that I know into the hands of the players in the games that I play, and that is one of the main reasons for putting out the Enhancement Diversification Calculator & Guide, because like the name says, it's not just a program, but it's a Guide demonstrating exactly how Enhancement Diversification works.

Energy Absorption Calculator v1.2.0.0

I really meant to get this version out sooner as it's very important, and I hate having misleading information floating about. So let me first apologize for not having done so.

With that out of the way, let me introduce you to Energy Absorption Calculator v1.2.0.0. The program functions identically to the last version, but thanks to City of Data I've got more exact values for the power - which I will include on the program page.

AC Traceroute v2.0.1.0

Now that I've got a new ACDATExplorer for Throne of Destiny (see below), I plucked out a more recent map, and dropped it into AC Traceroute. This way some of the newer towns and locations no longer look like they're in the middle of the ocean. That's the only update to the program at this time. You can find it here.

ACDATExplorer for Throne of Destiny

I was going through my programming related emails and I noticed about a dozen requests for me to update ACDATExplorer for Throne of Destiny, so I decided to spend a little time doing just that. If you go to the ACDATExplorer page you will be able to download the latest version (v2.0.0.0) which supports Throne of Destiny.

I've left up a download link for the older Dark Majesty version of the program because I know there's at least one person out there playing around with it from recent emails.

Old Pages Gone

Well as of yesterday, I've managed to convert the rest of my old FrontPage site over here to my new Drupal site. I'm pretty sure that I've set up all the proper redirects in the domain's top level .htaccess file - this means if you use an old URL you should end up here instead.

I'm pretty psyched as this means I can wash my hands of FrontPage down the road. FrontPage was good for what it gave me at the time when I first set up the old site, but considering that Microsoft has chosen to abandon the product, I see no reason why I shouldn't as well.

A Work In Progress

The words "Under Construction" come off to me as old and tired, especially when it's only partly true. Instead, I look at what is going on here more as "a work in progress".

Essentially what's going on is that I'm busy moving from my old web pages that were scattered about this domain and designed using Front Page, and incorporating them here into Drupal - a tool I've been using for a while now here. It's an interesting process as Front Page puts a lot of extra tags into it's HTML and these tags either are not needed under Drupal, or cause it "issues". No big deal in the long run, it just means the whole process takes longer. I'll get through it.
